My ceramics are hand built from slabs. These pieces were created by pressing wet clay slabs into a rubbery hand carving. Each piece is additionally hand worked and unique in its detail. The bowls were pressed with different carvings on the top and bottom while the clay slab was flat. The bowl is then placed on a plaster hump, worked some more and allowed to dry. I press my carved designs for the vases into clay slabs before I construct the finished pieces. I use underglaze to achieve my colors. The Red Sun Rattle is carved directly into the clay. My ceramics are fired two or three times, mid range in an electric kiln.
